Meet the Doctors

Christopher S. Kent, MD was in practice for more than 15 years before joining Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in June 2011. Board certified in Neurological Surgery, Dr. Kent completed his residency at the Department of Neurosurgery SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY and attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine where he earned his medical degree.

Dr. Kent has memberships with the American Board of Neurological Surgery, American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons North American Spine Society, and serves as a Diplomat for the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Kent is an invited lecturer to the American Association of Neurological Surgery oral board review course. He served as staff neurosurgeon for the Naval Medical Center in San Diego from 1996 to 1999. He has also published works on spinal cord diseases and other neurosurgery topics. .

 

Robert J. Martin, MD joined Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in 2007. Board certified in Neurological Surgery, Dr. Martin completed his residency at the Department of Neurosurgery SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY and completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at New York University Medical Center. He attended SUNY at Stony Brook where he earned his medical degree.

Dr. Martin has memberships with the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and North American Spine Society.

Other accomplishments include serving as associate professor of neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery at SUNY’s Medical Center from 1992 to 1997. During his time there, he educated fellow physicians throughout the country and also in Canada, France and
Austria about clinical advances in neurosurgery. 

 

D. Mark Murphy, MD joined Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in 2007. Board certified in Neurological Surgery, Dr. Murphy completed his residency at the University of Alabama, Birmingham and attended the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA where he earned his medical degree.

Dr. Murphy has memberships with the American College of Surgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Southern Neurological Society, Georgia Neurological Society, Florida Neurological Society and the J. Garber Galbraith Neurological Society.

He has been in the private practice of neurosurgery since completing his residency in 1985.
